I found this interesting Picture
Ok so I know all of you have had to hear of Tammy Faye and Jim Bakker. They were the founders of the now defunct PTL Ministries and Heritage USA. I actually recall Heritage USA being open when I was younger. I have actually been there. Then the scandal happened and the rest is history. So I found this picture on WBTV a news station in Charlotte NC. The picture was taken by Dave Marianne of Charlotte NC. It is the never finished hotel that Heritage USA was building when the ministry went down. What I find interesting about this picture is the Rainbow over top of this unfinished building that is falling apart. A Rainbow is a promise from God. It reminds me of God’s promise to forgive us for our mistakes. I know God has forgiven both Tammy Faye and Jim. People may have not but God has. Let this picture remind you of no matter how bad you get off track God will forgive you.

This is a beautiful picture that has double significance for me since my wife has always been a fan of rainbows and the rainbow sealed the covenant between God and Noah. This covenant was unilateral – one in which God promised never to destroy the world again but man did not have to offer up anything. Often it seems as if God meets us more than halfway – God comes all the way to us like God did through his Son Jesus Christ. This rainbow in the picture has come all the way to the earth reminding us of God’s healing touch.

Thanks Brian. I loved the picture too and was glad I happened to stumble upon it. I so wish while I was living in Charlotte that I would have had the chance to meet Tammy Faye. Some would think she is fake but I know deep inside she was well Tammy Faye! It was sad when she passed away this year. Jim is still doing TV ministry and is building something in Missouri that reminds me a lot of what Heritage USA was. I am glad to see that the main parts of Heritage USA have been taken over by another church so at least the place is not lost and God’s ministry can continue. I still think if the eyes of Jim and Tammy Faye would not have gotten captured by money the place would be one amazing place. I have always wondered what it would be like today if the scandal would have never happened. I have always thought the same about Henry Ford and what he would say about automobiles today. Thanks for taking time to post a note! Glad to know I am not the only gay man around
